From the ship's history
M/S Havsörnen replaced M/S Silvertärnan af Westerås in 2008. A change that quadrupled the number of seats. Havsörnen was built in 1965 at Gustavsson & Andersson's shipyard (Boghammar Marin) in Stockholm and operated until 2006 for Waxholmsbolaget in Stockholm.

The boat was among the first high-speed boats that Waxholmsbolaget in Stockholm easily built and has been on almost all the major routes in the Stockholm archipelago during its career. In 1972, the ship was rebuilt and extended at Boghammar Marin. Since then, the ship has been renovated several times and its current interior and machinery are from the year 2001. The new and renovated engines make the boat climate-smart and environmentally approved. In autumn/winter 2016/2017, the ship was extensively renovated with a built-in aft saloon, partially new interior, etc.
